Morocco a gateway to Africa and a country of dizzying diversity. Located at the intersection of Europe and Africa makes it a real crossroads bordered by the waters of the Mediterranean and open to the vast stretches of the Atlantic Ocean. Morocco remains a demographically young country with approximately 37 million people located on the north-west coast of Africa. It's projected that Morocco will have a population of about 42 million by 2050. Morocco’s GDP expanded 2.174% YoY in June 2019.
Morocco’s nominal GDP reached 29.502 USD bn in Jun 2019. Morocco has an open economy. According to World Bank, Trade represented 83.73% of the GDP in 2018. Where as in 2019, the total investment in Morocco amounted to US$41.26bn. For 2023 the GDP in Morocco is forecasted to amount to US$140.67bn. With an aim of attracting more FDI the country launched a vast project of economic modernization program (Industrial Acceleration Plan 2014-2020). Additionally, the construction of Ouarzazate Solar Power Station, expected to become the largest solar plant in the world with a total capacity of 510MW upon completion, is one of the largest infrastructure investments, not only in Morocco but in the whole of Africa.
